THON of course took up most of the weekend like expected, and it seems like all of my classes just dumped a ton of work on me for the next two weeks. With State Patty's Day this weekend and THON last weekend on top of the unordinarily large amount of work, it was definately neseccary to buckle down this week. Weeks like this happen though, and when it does you just need to trudge through. Getting stressed about it and complaining doesn't help at all. Having a mind set like that just makes you not be able to think clearly and causes your work to take a lot longer than it need to.
In order to make sure you don't get stressed, its best to make a list of everything that you need to do before you start your work. That way as you're doing one assignment you aren't thinking, "oh I can't forget to do my homework for chem". With a list written down, it will help you to just focus on one subject at a time and not get side-tracked by the other assignments you have. No matter what, while you're working on one assignment toyou need to make sure that is the only assignment you are thinking about. Sometimes I find myself worrying about another hommework assignment while I'm trying to read or something and it really doesn't help, it just makes the reading take longer so that you can't get to your next assignment as fast.
Once you finish one assignment, cross it off your list. This helps because then you can actually see the progess you've made. Soon enough you'll be down to just one or two more things to do and it'll make you feel great! Even when you have a ton of work to do in all of your classes, just remember the sooner you get it done the sooner you can truly relax! And spring break is coming very soon so then you'll be able to catch up on sleep and forget about all your work for a few days =]
I am a list person as well! =) However, it seems like my list is growing by the day. I cross one thing off and add three more.
ReplyDeleteI've also found that making lists is the best way of staying on top of my assignments. I love that feeling after accomplishing everything on a particular list and then throwing it away!
ReplyDeleteI guess that makes all of us list people! However, sometimes I have sooo many things to do, that I list them all, but don't accomplish everything in one day. Then the next day, I get new things, and end up just having to make an entirely new list. Maybe I need to revise my system...
